Rejuvenate your body and calm your mind. Gain greater flexibility, balance, and strength. Learn and practice in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

Michelle Morrison teaches weekly yoga classes for beginners and intermediate students on Smith Street in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. In her classes she blends hatha and vinyasa yoga styles with mindfulness meditation (vipassana). She offers detailed alignment instruction and tailors vinyasa sequences to the abilities of the students in each class.

Basics
Mondays, 6:30-8:00 pm

Beginners and experienced students alike enjoy this class which includes detailed explanation and demonstration of fundamental poses, simple sun salutations, and basic breathing and meditation techniques. This slower-moving class builds stamina, focus, confidence, and grace.

Intermediate (NEW!)
Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00 pm

Experienced students have the opportunity to deepen all aspects of their practice. More advanced asanas are explored, including arm balances and inversions. Vinyasa sequences move at a more vigorous pace and may include longer holds. Through sustained awareness of body, breath, and mind, students are able to observe and release old patterns of reactivity and find new freedom in the present moment. Come with an open mind and playful spirit!

Michelle’s class is a great blend of poses and meditation. She has helped me develop greater awareness of my actions outside of class. – T.N.

Michelle is my introduction to yoga -- and what a great introduction! Even though I was a beginner in a class of ‘seasoned yogis’, she never let me feel it. Her teaching style reflects her patient and calm personality. – S. P.
